The research presented in this paper improves the structure-criterion switching performance of the blind decision feedback\nequalizer (DFE) which eliminates error propagation effects by optimizing both the structure and the cost criterion. To conquer\nthe complexity of the 64-QAM (quadrature amplitude modulated) signal constellation, the stochastic entropy-gradient algorithm\nis additionally regularized by the coefficient leaky term to avoid a coefficients norm overgrowth of the received signal whitener.\nEffectively, the leak of coefficients is employed to ensure a stable structure-criterion switching of DFE between blind and decision directed\noperation modes. The optimization of the resulting whitening algorithm is achieved by means of two free, leaky and\nentropic, parameters which act in opposition to each other. Both, the influence of the 64-QAM signal on the feedback filter behavior\nand the parametric optimization of the whitening algorithm are analyzed through simulations....
Abstract\nThis paper proposes an exponential replicate broadcasting (ERB) algorithm for data dissemination to improve\ndata access efficiency. The proposed ERB algorithm first constructs a broadcast tree to determine the broadcast\nfrequency of each data and splits the broadcast tree into some broadcast wood to generate the broadcast\nprogram. In addition, this paper develops an analytical model to derive the mean access latency of the generated\nbroadcast program. In light of the derived results, both the index channel's bandwidth and the data channel's\nbandwidth can be optimally allocated to maximize bandwidth utilization. This paper presents experiments to\nhelp evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed strategy. From the experimental results, it can be seen that the\nproposed mechanism is feasible in practice....
We propose two generalized block-diagonalization (BD) schemes for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) relay broadcasting\nsystems with no channel state information (CSI) at base station. We first introduce a generalized zero forcing (ZF) scheme that\nreduces the complexity of the traditional BD scheme. Then the optimal power loading matrix for the proposed scheme is analyzed\nand the closed-form solution is derived. Furthermore, an enhanced scheme is proposed by employing the minimum-mean-squared error\n(MMSE) criterion. Simulation results show that the proposed generalized MMSE scheme outperforms the other schemes and\nthe optimal power loading scheme improves the sum-rate performance efficiently....
In this study, we consider the role of a publicly owned platform and\nprogram me quality in the free-to-air broadcasting industry. We compare the equilibrium\nlevels of advertising under private and mixed duopoly competition, and show\nthat the connection between program me quality and advertising incentives is drastically\ndifferent in each scenario. We also consider the welfare implications of our\nanalysis and generate policy implications regarding the optimal level of government\nintervention in the broadcasting industry....
